AHCX gears up for agricultural fair
AHL Commodities Exchange (AHCX) will be one of the companies to showcase its services at the forthcoming 13th National Agriculture Fair to take place at Chichiri Trade Fair Grounds in Blantyre this week.
The fair, which will run from the 8th of 10th of September under the Theme Climate Smart Agriculture, aims at addressing prevailing uncertain climate changes in Malawi and the rest of the world.
Communications Manager for AHCX, Thom Khanje, said as a key player on the agricultural value chain in Malawi, AHCX decided to take part in the fair to showcase its significance in mitigating climate change, support agribusiness and helping Malawi increase exports.
“The fair provides an opportunity for AHCX to expose its services in the commodity market to farmers, local and international buyers and other players on the market,” said Khanje.
The Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI), organisers of the fair, say there is need for an approach that would help to guide actions needed to transform and reorient agricultural systems to effectively support development and ensure food security.
