The groundnuts also known as peanut or goober and taxonomically classified as Arachis hypogaea, is a legume crop grown mainly for its edible seeds.


Maize also known as corn and classified as Zea mays is a large grain plant first domesticated by indigenous peoples in southern Mexico about 10,000 years ago.


Glycine max, also known as soybean in North America or soya bean, is a species of legume native to East Asia, grown for its edible bean that has numerous uses.


Pigeon peas, Cajanus cajan is a legume from the family Fabaceae. It was domesticated in India at least 3,500 years ago. Its seeds are a commond food in Asia, Africa, and Latin America.


Sunflower seed shall be deemed to comply with this standard if upon inspection and grading the provision in the below clauses are satisfied.


Rice is the seed of the grass species Oryza glaberrima (African rice). It is the most widely consumed staple food for a large part of the world's human population, especially in Asia.


Phaseolus vulgaris Linn is a herbaceous annual plant grown worldwide for its edible dry seed (known as just "beans"). Raw or undercooked beans contain the toxin phytohaemagglutinin.

Sefalana Group is one of the largest conglomates in Botswana . Sefalana are partners with the exchange in importation of raw materials for food processing by its subsidiary food Botswana since 2015.

Pancham International, a trading company in India is one of the major partners of the exchange since inception importing Pigeon peas among others since 2014.

Ultimex Holdings is a private limited company in Botswana processing various raw materials for food and feed. Ultimatex Holdings is a regular importer of soyabeasns among others commodities on the exchange.

 Kamili 

A Kenyan processing company, produces high quality flours, grains, rices, pulses, and spices. Kamili imports raw commodities from AHCX for processing or onward exports to various destinations.

 Rab Processors 

A member of AHCX, Rab is one of the renowned processors in Malawi. It purchases various of its raw materials through the platform for processing into food products for the local and international markets.

WHITE MAIZE

Maize also known as corn and classified as Zea mays is a large grain plant first domesticated by indigenous peoples in southern Mexico about 10,000 years ago. The leafy stalk of the plant produces separate pollen and ovuliferous inflorescences or ears, which are fruits, yielding kernels or seeds. Maize has become a staple food in many parts of the world, with total production surpassing that of wheat or rice. However, not all of this maize is consumed directly by humans. Some of the maize production is used for corn ethanol, animal feed and other maize products, such as corn starch and corn syrup.

WHITE HARICOT BEANS

The navy bean, haricot, pearl haricot bean, boston bean, white pea bean, or pea bean, is a variety of the common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) native to the Americas, where it was domesticated. It is a small, dry white bean which is smaller than many other types of white beans, and has an oval, slightly flattened shape.
